In the liner notes for their 2002 release Tradition Kills Intelligence, the j. pyramid stated that their second album, complexity of simplicity, would be “coming soon.” Well, if a decade is “soon” then the guys are right on time!
Unfortunately, sometimes life happens, which is why the group disbanded in 2003 and never completed their sophomore effort. But last year, George and JT discussed taking the original drum and guitar tracks recorded 8 years prior (and which were fortunately kept) and properly finish what they started.
So, earlier this year, JT completed the remaining tracks at Studio 13 and gave the record new life. “I think it’s a good representation of who we were but also who we’ve become,” said Templeman. “It’s certainly one for the metal lovers out there.”
complexity of simplicity’s release date is fittingly set for Friday, April 13th 2012 and will be available online at 13-recordings.com.
